Working on

Kate Lewthwaite
| Phenology manager

Lover of all things greyhound, whippet and coffee.

Kate's desk follows the ancient Inca tradition of building stepped mountain-like structures out of paper. This prevents the addition of further work.

Shaun NixonShaun Nixon | Project development

Thespian star of stage and screen, green campaigner and techno wizard.

A worryingly tidy environment (and plant nursery), Shaun's "empty desk" policy is in sharp contrast to his creativity. No-one thinks he does any work!

Nick Collinson | Conservation policy

Keeping us straight on all matters ecological, Nick is never happier than when competing in Ironman triathlons. He's taken part in the amateur stages of the Tour de France.

We've never seen his desk, but it's under the stairs and apparently it's "very tidy".

Tim Sparks | Phenology statistician (Centre for Ecology and Hydrology)

Lovingly referred to as 'Uncle Phenology', Tim loves nothing better than torturing some data until it confesses. He is not related to Arthur Lowe (though we suspect otherwise!).

His desk was last seen in 1997.

Sue Mallinson | Network coordinator

Sue is our resident fungal expert and is mainly to be found discussing, photographing and eating her pet subject. Her desk features an impressive 'fungarium'.

Lauren McIntyre | Learning coordinator

Quietly efficient, the team has struggled to  find suitable insulting comments for Lauren. We'll keep trying.
